Private training establishment and wānanga enrolments, 2000–10

This graph shows enrolment trends at private training establishments (PTEs) and wānanga in the early 2000s. PTE enrolments have fluctuated over this period, though have grown overall from just under 55,000 in 2000 to nearly 76,000 in 2010. Wānanga enrolments increased hugely in the first half of the decade but dropped by about 40% later in the decade to stabilise at around 42,000.
