
In New Zealand there was interest and enthusiasm for radioactivity and the dawning atomic age in the late 1940s. Despite the dropping of the bomb at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it was still acceptable to use terms such as ‘Atomic Red’ and ‘devastating’ together, to advertise cosmetics.
