This poster of around 1932 advertises the Chateau Tongariro at National Park as an ideal holiday destination for skiers, anglers and trampers. Once the preserve of the wealthy, places such as this became accessible to a wider range of people as the railways network became more extensive and cheap rail travel was promoted.
