Golf tourism poster, 1930s

Golf tourism poster, 1930s

The Chateau Tongariro and Mt Ruapehu provide the backdrop for this 1930s poster advertising the attractions of playing golf in New Zealand. The poster was produced for the Tourist and Publicity division of the Department of Industries and Commerce. In 2012 the Bayview Chateau Tongariro still had a nine-hole course on this site.
