1993 binding referendum on the electoral system: the guide

This is the cover of the 16-page guide to the 1993 referendum on the electoral system that was published by the Electoral Referendum Panel, a body set up by the Minister of Justice to ensure that official information about the two electoral systems – first-past-the-post and mixed-member proportional (MMP) – was accurate and impartial. In the 1993 referendum voters opted for MMP by a margin of 53.9% to 46.1%.
