This was the first poster advocating safe sex produced by the New Zealand Prostitutes' Collective in the late 1980s, with funding from the Department of Health. The poster challenges assumptions about sex workers being the source of sexually transmitted diseases, and positions them as professionals who are knowledgeable about safe sex practices. It playfully uses stereotypes about sex workers as blondes in short, tight skirts to attract attention and align sex work with condom use. The poster was produced at a time when many clients were reluctant to use condoms.
