Promoting level-crossing safety

This poster, featuring former New Zealand cricketer Chris Cairns, was produced as part of a 2008 rail safety campaign called ‘Don’t run the risk – watch out for trains’. It aimed to reduce New Zealand’s high rate of fatal level-crossing accidents. To further publicise the campaign, Cairns also undertook a ‘Walk for rail safety’ from Auckland to Rolleston, where his sister Louise died in a 1993 level-crossing accident.
