Yates’ autumn garden calendar, 1943

The government launched a ‘Dig for victory’ campaign in 1943, and Yates seed distribution company carried this message to home gardeners. It was necessary for people to grow their own vegetables if possible, as produce from commercial market gardens was requisitioned for allied troops during the war.
