Suburban cabbage patch

The gloss had worn off suburban life for many women by 1968 when Thursday magazine, which billed itself as 'the magazine for younger women', published this issue with the headline 'who says I'm a cabbage?'. It questioned whether women in the suburbs were becoming 'cabbages'.
