The Codlin Moth Act 1884

The Codlin Moth Act of 1884 aimed to prohibit the importation of apples from America and elsewhere. However, by this stage the codling moth was well established in New Zealand, and the confiscation of apple shipments already in progress was seen to be a particularly harsh move.
