The apple family tree

The aim of research is to create new knowledge and apply this to develop new processes and products. The method is highlighted in this family tree, which shows how various popular varieties of New Zealand apples have been bred. The new apples originated with the Cox's Orange from Britain and the Delicious variety from North America.
