Story: Overseas trade policy

Two-faced policy

Two-faced policy

This 1971 cartoon exposes New Zealand’s contradictory trade policy stance. New Zealand wanted protection of its export quota to the UK, but was critical of the US reducing its quota for New Zealand lamb. This two-faced policy only ended in the early 1980s.
