Tīvaevae tātaura (3rd of 5)

Tīvaevae tātaura

This type of quilt is similar to the tīvaevae manu (appliqué type). The patterns are embroidered first, and then sewn onto the contrasted background using hemming stitches or embroidered fancy stitches.
