David Low's anti-fascist cartoons for the London Evening Standard led to his name being added to the Gestapo arrest list in the 1930s. This 1938 cartoon ridicules the fascism of Germany and Italy (personified by Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini) in contrast to the democracy of France and Britain (represented by Edouard Daladier and Neville Chamberlain).
