Revising the coat of arms: George Woods’s suggestion

Draughtsman and illustrator George Woods proposed an updated version of the New Zealand coat of arms in the mid-1940s. In his design the European woman on the coat of arms – a bit like France’s Marianne – bares one of her breasts.
