Alan Danks, chair of the Committee on Official Information

Alan Danks, seen here in a portrait by Leo Bensemann, was a professor of economics at the University of Canterbury. In 1978 he headed a committee on official information, which released two reports in 1981. Their recommendations were incorporated in the Official Information Act 1982.
