‘E Wai and Kahoki’

‘E Wai and Kahoki’

As late as 1850 Europeans were still using the term ‘New Zealanders’ to describe Māori. This drawing by George French Angas of two Māori women, Wai and Kahoki, is from his book The New Zealanders illustrated (1847).
