Māori traders can be seen on the right of Queen Street wharf and in the canoe to the left. Māori arrived in Auckland by canoe with goods for trade. Later, they used and owned coastal vessels to transport their goods to the Auckland market.

This site is very useful when it comes to getting information about Māori and New Zealand, and this has also got a lot of really good information about New Zealand's history as well as Māori history.
