I was fortunate enough to see a spectacular meteor shower just south of Auckland in 2009. As I was driving over the Bombays heading south late at night, I was awestruck when 'flashes' brighter than any firework lit up the sky one after the other in quick succession. There were probably 4 or 5 seperate flashes in total. Amazing stuff!
