Stained glass was very common in New Zealand houses of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Windows were often seen in more stately homes, around the front doorway and in rooms facing the street. This example of Edwardian stained glass dating from 1904, by Charles Carter, is in the porch of the mansion Carrigafoyle on The Terrace in Wellington.
