A variety of plastic plumbing materials are sold in this hardware store. Plastics are often used in buildings for carrying fresh water and waste water. In the early 2000s guttering, spouting and underground drainage coil and pipes were mostly made of plastic. Plastics had largely superseded metal piping (lead, galvanized steel or copper) which had been common in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
