Canada geese are very wary, so hunters use camouflage clothes and hats, and cover their face, hands and guns. The veil and gloves hide the white flash from the face and hands, and the camouflage on the gun reduces the chance of sun glinting off the barrels. Modern hunters tend to prefer single-barrelled auto-loading shotguns over double-barrelled guns.
