The 2019 NZSL Week campaign had the theme 'My Languge, My place' which aimed to draw attention to the unique value of NZSL to New Zealand. NZSL Week has been organised by Deaf Aotearoa since 2007 and is usually held in May. In 2020 the Covid-19 pandemic meant it was delayed until September.
