Centennial publications

Centennial publications

John Pascoe (left), Oliver Duff (centre) and E. H. McCormick (right) all worked on the major historical publishing effort associated with New Zealand's centennial in 1940. Here they watch the first number of a 30-part series, Making New Zealand, roll off the press in 1939. In addition to these pictorial surveys, a number of longer essays were produced, including McCormick's landmark volume of criticism, Letters and art in New Zealand.
