Edgar Taylor was employed by Alfred Buxton as a landscape draughtsman from 1912 until 1926, and many of the gardens credited to Buxton were actually designed by Taylor. In 1933, by this time self-employed, Taylor designed the gardens of the Sanitarium factory in Christchurch. His design has survived into the 21st century.
