The New Zealand Māori rugby team performs a haka to the visiting South African team at Napier in 1921. Controversy erupted following the game when a telegram from a South African journalist was leaked to the press. It claimed that the South Africans had not wanted to play Māori players and said that it was terrible to see local white New Zealanders cheering for Māori against the white South Africans.
