A caravan holiday

Image
A caravan holiday

This family have parked their caravan near a spectacular stand of tree ferns at Red Beach, Ōrewa, north of Auckland, in 1950. Caravans, often with an awning to provide extra living space,  became popular after the Second World War when car ownership boomed. Caravans were a modest but comfortable and economical form of accommodation, and could be towed to or permanently parked at scenic holiday places.

Beautiful picture of the 50s. So amazing to see that before, so much time, people began to love this wonderful RV lifestyle. Once, it was because of the bombing and the war and today it is because the cost of living or because people want an alternative to the crazy city life
