Chapters of some Māori gangs have been involved in the sale of illegal drugs. At first it was marijuana, but in the 2000s the manufacture and sale of smokable methamphetamine (‘P’) became lucrative. In 2010 and 2011 meetings were held in Hawke's Bay between rival gangs Black Power and the Mongrel Mob. Shown here are participants in a 2011 meeting.
