At the 2010 Karaka Yearling Sales, this bay colt (by Redoute's Choice out of Grand Echezeaux) was sold for $1.3 million, among the highest prices ever in New Zealand. Appropriately named Burgundy (Grand Echezeaux is a premier French wine) by his buyer, David Ellis of Te Akau Stud, the horse had won four races and $82,000 by mid-2012.
