Steve Price, driver, and Brent Murdoch, navigator, race near Kurow on the Waitaki River. They were among the New Zealand competitors in the World Jet Boat Marathon of 2009, which took place on the Waiau, Rakaia, Waitaki and Waimakariri rivers in Canterbury and Otago. Competitors from Canada and the United States also took part. The marathon is held annually, alternating between Canada, Mexico, the US and New Zealand.
