Rob Nichol (right), chief executive of the New Zealand Rugby Players' Association, offers reassurance in 2012 to Chris Moller of the Otago Rugby Union, which was then technically insolvent. Nichol has primarily represented rugby players, but has also worked with netballers, hockey players and cricketers, and chaired the New Zealand Athletes Federation.
