Women displayed their home baking skills at morning and afternoon teas, though this was less common from the 1960s, as increasing numbers of women worked outside the home. Here, probably in the 1930s, a group of elderly women and a girl sit before an elegantly arranged table, crowned with a truly magnificent cake on a glass stand.
