ASEAN meeting, Bangkok, 1983

The New Zealand delegation is identified by its sign and small national flag during the sixth ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, in 1983. While not a member of ASEAN, New Zealand became a 'dialogue partner' in 1975 and took part in joint ASEAN–New Zealand meetings such as this one. The 1983 New Zealand delegation included Foreign Affairs Minister Warren Cooper, Foreign Affairs Deputy Secretary Malcolm Templeton, and diplomats Ray Jermyn and Nick Bridge.
