This pou tiaki (protective carved figure) on Tawanui station is named Te Hononga. The station is owned by the Ātihau-Whanganui Incorporation and has 1,510 effective hectares, running around 13,100 sheep and 5,500 cattle. It is a breeding and finishing station.
