This clip shows a performance by the Waihīrere Māori Club. The group, which was formed in 1952, takes its name from the settlement of Waihīrere in the region occupied by the tribe Te Aitanga-a-Māhaki. It has won the national kapa haka (Māori performing arts) title five times – more often than any other group.
