Members of the Waitangi Tribunal, Chief Judge Edward Taihakurei Durie (left) and Paul Temm, QC, read a book with children from the kōhanga reo at Waiwhetū, Lower Hutt, in 1985. The children are (from left) Harehana Pupuke, five years old, Awhina Woods, four, Tautoko Ratu, six, Matariki Puketapu, two, Benjamin Cowan, one, and Tame Ngaheke, five. At the time the tribunal was hearing the Māori language claim.
