The Pūhoi pub is well known for its diverse clientele and quirky décor. Its legendary status began in the 1960s when Rod and Dulcie Seymour took it over. Described as an ‘old-time licensee’, Rod decorated the hotel with memorabilia. The couple died in the early 2000s and their daughter Gillian became the proprietor. The pub remains popular with tourists and weekend motorcyclists.
