Janet Grieve is New Zealand’s foremost authority on marine copepods. Her work has focused on the diversity of copepods in the seas around New Zealand. She has described a large number of new species and discovered information about their ecology and life history. Dr Grieve has also investigated the physical and biological processes that govern ocean productivity, and is a strong advocate for the sustainable management of the ocean’s fisheries.
