Story: Gold and gold mining

Prospectus

A prospectus is a printed sheet that details an offer to buy shares in a company. Many companies needed to raise money to build mining equipment such as dredges. The companies gave themselves optimistic names, and their prospectuses often exaggerated the richness of their claims. This prospectus was for a claim near Beaumont on the Clutha (Molyneux) River.
