Tackle box

Tackle box

Along with a rod, the tackle box is an essential piece of equipment. Usually it contains hooks, sinkers made of lead, and swivels (top right) for connecting the fishing line to the hook and sinker. Swivels also help prevent the fishing line from twisting. The white thread is used to tie bait to hooks, as bait often has a tendency to come off when the line is cast.
