Crystalline quartz

Quartz crystals usually occur as cavity fillings in volcanic rocks and often have a pyramidal form. The purple variety of crystalline quartz is known as amethyst. The small polished piece has been cut from a slab of amethyst, then trimmed and tumbled.

I have found some rocks and small stones that I have collected for the past 40 years how do I find out what the names of my rocks are do I need to take photos of them if so where would I send them too?
