Baring Head research station

Baring Head research station

A research station of the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research has measured gas in the atmosphere at Baring Head, on Wellington’s south coast. Because the air in the winds has travelled long distances over the ocean, it has not been polluted. Measurements are representative of the background concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
