Older workers such as Brian Carran are more likely to be self-employed than young people. Brian is seen here at the Pak ’n Save supermarket in Mt Albert, Auckland, where he is owner and manager. This supermarket was nominated for an EEO Trust Work & Life Award in 2005 for its positive treatment of staff.

I worked for Brian Carran for 12 years in Taumarunui new world. He was the best employer that I have ever had. He deserves a big thank you for the great way he treats his staff.
