Raymond Ratima murders, 1992

In 1992 Masterton man Raymond Ratima killed seven members of his family, including his three young sons, at the home of his parents-in-law. Ratima and his wife Toni had been experiencing relationship difficulties and had moved in with Toni’s parents, Phillip and Rebecca Ferguson. Ratima was asked to leave after an altercation but returned to the house one evening and killed everyone there. He was sentenced to life imprisonment.
