‘Radio One-Double-X’

‘Radio One-Double-X’

Radio 1XX Whakatane was granted a private broadcasting licence at the end of 1970 and first broadcast in June 1971. At the time the nearest radio station was in Tauranga. Radio 1XX was the country’s fourth private commercial station. In the 2000s it was still an institution in eastern Bay of Plenty life.
