Each year since 2004, a couple of thousand sheep have run down Te Kūiti's main street as part of the Great New Zealand Muster – a local festival which celebrates the contribution of the animals to the town's economy and culture. As this news clip from 2006 shows, the muster is quite a spectacle. The main participants, being sheep, don't always behave as planned.
