Auckland has become known for its casual dress. What some have described as the ‘property developer look’ – jeans, white shirts and trainer sports shoes – has been adopted by many businesspeople, such as developer Rick Martin, pictured here. New Zealand dress became more casual in the later 20th century, and Auckland’s warm climate in particular lent itself to less formal clothing.
