Mōkihinui River share certificate

Mōkihinui River share certificate

A plan by the state-owned Meridian Energy company to dam the Mōkihinui River on the South Island's West Coast led the conservation interest group Forest and Bird to begin a campaign to save it. Supporters were invited to fund the group's legal campaign by buying a limited-edition shareholding certificate for $100. The dam did not go ahead.
