Deaf Blacks number 8 Samuel Taua’a (left) is seen playing in the final of the 2002 Deaf Rugby World Championship between New Zealand and Wales, at Eden Park, Auckland. Wales won the match 28–14. Deaf rugby players have often played in club and provincial teams alongside hearing players. They have also formed their own teams, including the Deaf Blacks, the New Zealand representative team.
