Carex

Carex

These preserved specimens of Carex kirkii were taken from Mt St Bathans in Central Otago by botanist Donald Petrie (1846–1925). Petrie was a school inspector who carried a collecting press on his travels in the region. He would climb mountains in his spare time, recording new species.
